The service and the beta
The PockyAPP app and the pokecio.com server are run by Karel Zelenka (dev@pokecio.com). The app is in beta: features may change or disappear, the service may go down, and we can’t guarantee you won’t lose anything. For encrypted conversations, turn on key backup, without it you can’t get your old history back on a new device. PockyAPP is free and provided as is, without warranty.
Your account
During the beta, accounts are created only with an invite and only on the pokecio.com server. You’re responsible for your account, password and recovery key. If you suspect someone else got into your account, sign out unknown devices and write to us.
Age
PockyAPP is for people aged 15 and over. We close the account of a younger user, along with all its data, as soon as we learn of it, even if they falsely confirmed their age when signing up. Parents and guardians can contact privacy@pokecio.com at any time.
Rules
On PockyAPP you must not:
- share illegal content, including content that exploits children;
- harass, threaten, spread hate or other people’s private data;
- send spam, scams or malware;
- infringe copyright or other rights;
- share another person’s location without their consent;
- abuse or overload the service or get around its limits.
Moderation
For serious or repeated breaches of the rules we can block an account. We can’t see into encrypted conversations; you can leave a chat with anyone behaving badly and write to us.
Your content
What you write or send stays yours. You allow us only what running the service needs: storing it and showing it to the people it’s meant for.
The app and Matrix
The Android app is downloaded straight from our website, outside Google Play, and offers new versions itself. PockyAPP uses the open Matrix protocol: when you talk to people on other Matrix servers, their servers’ rules apply to them too.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for damage caused by using the beta, outages or lost data. This doesn’t affect rights the law doesn’t let us take away.
Ending
You can close your account at any time by writing to privacy@pokecio.com. If we ever shut the service down, we’ll let you know in advance so you can take your data.
Changes and law
These terms may change; we’ll announce important changes in the app or on the website. They’re governed by Czech law. Send questions to privacy@pokecio.com.
