Timeline: posts from your channels in one place

Timeline is a new tab in PockyAPP. Instead of going through every chat separately, you see posts from the channels you follow in one place. It is in alpha for now and available only in Android from version 0.10.1.

What you can do in the feed

You add up to six photos to a post, and the first one carries the text as a caption. You react and comment right in the list, and the author is notified about a new comment. You edit your own post and forward any post to another chat. Tapping an author’s name shows their posts and a button for a message. You find public channels through the search on the server and start following them with one tap.

No special storage

Timeline isn’t built on anything new. A channel is an ordinary room you marked to follow, a post is a regular message in it and a comment is a reply in a thread.

That’s why people using Element and other Matrix apps see the posts too.

Nothing is kept in a special place and private rooms stay encrypted as before.

What’s still missing

This is an alpha, so here is what you won’t get yet: reactions don’t trigger a notification, and videos in posts and link cards aren’t there yet. Timeline is also Android only. The web, Windows and iPhone will follow.

We’d love to hear what you miss. Write to dev@pokecio.com.
