Photos, videos and voice notes without hidden traces

Several photos at once, a chat gallery, video with a player and voice messages with a real waveform. We strip the location data from photos.

From the app

Sending photos, videos and voice notes is a given in any chat. Keeping track of what travels with them is harder. PockyAPP checks what leaves the phone with every attachment.

A photo that doesn’t reveal where it was taken

An ordinary phone photo carries more than most people think: the phone model, the time and above all the exact coordinates of where it was taken. Every photo is therefore stripped of hidden EXIF data before it is sent.

Coordinates from photos never leave your phone in PockyAPP.

You send a photo from the gallery or take it on the spot. You can pick several at once and write a caption for each. Before sending you choose between full quality and a smaller version that saves data. In the chat photos open full screen and in the chat info you’ll find a gallery of all the photos in the conversation.

Videos with a player

A video goes out with a preview and its length and plays right in the app. For MP4 files the app removes metadata, including location, before sending.

A voice you can see

Hold the microphone button to record and release it to send. In the chat you then see not a generic animation but the real waveform of your voice, so you can tell at a glance where someone is speaking and where there is silence.

Files and encryption

Send documents, PDFs and other files through attachments → File. The app shows the name and size and opens the file in the app you have set for that type. The size limit is set by the server and the app warns you about it before you start uploading for nothing.

In encrypted chats photos, videos, voice notes and files are encrypted just like text. The server stores only encrypted data and doesn’t know what is inside.
